Investment Advisers Graeme Parker - Divisional Director Graeme commenced his career in the world of pensions and investments at the age of 23 when he joined the Medical Sickness Society in Swindon. He progressed to become an adviser dealing with a client bank consisting of doctors and dentists, the Medical Sickness Societys prime market. He then joined pension specialist life office Provident Mutual where he became immersed in the world of pensions for the next nine years running a team of consultants. Following the demise of Provident Mutual, Graeme joined another pension specialist life office, Scottish Equitable where he continued to broaden his experience in the field during a period that encompassed many changes in legislation. Graeme was then offered a role as a consultant in the world-renowned consulting group, Marsh, where he continued to develop his expertise dealing mainly with pensions and employee benefit requirements of corporate clients. During this period, he also successfully completed the pensions qualification in G60, which allows him to advise clients on transfers and income drawdown. Graeme then joined Blake Lapthorn in June 2000 where he continued to work with both individual and corporate clients. In May 2001, Blake Lapthorn transferred its investment business to Ashcourt and Graeme was appointed a Divisional Director. Ken Norman - Adviser Ken began his career in Legal & General, Group Pensions Claims before joining a small Mutual Insurance company as Life Superintendent. Ken moved to Wyatt in 1969, becoming a Director in 1975. In 1995, Wyatt formed an alliance with R Watson & Sons to become Watson Wyatt. Ken became Head of London Personal Financial Planning and a Trustee of the Watson Wyatt Pension Scheme. Ken co-wrote the firm's Personal Financial Planning Manual. He specialised in individual pension and investment planning for Directors and Senior Executives of major Companies. Ken is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and has completed the Financial Planning Certificate. He also successfully completed the pension qualification G60 which allows him to advise clients on transfers and income drawdown. In February 2003, Ken moved to Barney Wilkins & Howard which transferred to Ashcourt in August 2003. Trevor Lonsdale - Private Client Manager Trevor joined Ashcourt Asset Management in January 2004 from HSBC Private Clients where, in his capacity as an Independent Financial Adviser, he provided holistic financial advice to the high net worth customers of the Bank. This included comprehensive investment, retirement and tax planning. However the primary responsibility within the role encompassed the review, servicing and management of high value investment portfolios in conjunction with the lead Fund Managers. A role which he will focus on at Ashcourt. Prior to joining HSBC Trevor attained a further 22 years financial services industry experience, two with Prudential in their high net worth division, and twenty in a number of varying roles with The Royal Bank of Scotland. Trevor holds the full FPC and is currently studying for the Investment Management Certificate. Mike Hancock - Investment Adviser Michael began his career in the financial services industry in 1992 at National Westminster bank, and was actively advising at the launch of NatWest Life the following year. He attained the FPC exams in 1993 and progressed to become a Senior Investment Manager based in the West End specialising on advising both personal and corporate clients on pensions, life insurance and investments. In 1998 he was head-hunted by the Woolwich at the start of their Open-Plan banking facility initiative and he progressed to becoming the top performing manager in the company prior to the take-over by Barclays. He entered the Independent side of financial services in 2000 and subsequently moved to Barney Wilkins & Howard Ltd in 2001 to provide support to the MD John Taylor. Michael has an excellent all round knowledge of investments and pensions. David Gibson - Investment Adviser After leaving school at 18 David joined a small firm of private client solicitors in Lincoln's Inn to study law. After working in the legal fraternity for nine years David decided to broaden his horizons to move on but to continue dealing with private clients in the Financial Services Industry. David has now worked in Financial Services for the last 22 years working for a number of small IFAs but over the last 14 years he has worked with two city firms of stockbrokers providing advise to private and corporate clients with professional, independent and objective advise on all aspects of financial planning including investment, personal and executive pension schemes, capital gains and inheritance tax considerations and trust matters home and abroad. Whilst working in the investment sector David has advised private clients on the buying and selling of UK equities, Government fixed interest instruments, as well as collective investments. David is a member of the Institute of Directors, an Affiliate member of the Securities Institute and a member of the Society of Financial Planners. | ||
